Cedar Park TX Project—Gold Star Families Memorial Monument

The State of TEXAS's new Gold Star Families Memorial Monument honoring the families of servicemen and women killed while serving in the Armed Forces is now on the horizon through the efforts of Chuck Rogers, Member, American Legion Hunter-Morris Memorial Post 911. He is the Chairman of the committee for the Cedar Park Texas Gold Star Family Memorial Monument (GSFMM) project in Cedar Park, Texas and an Honorary Board Member, Hershel Woody Williams Medal of Honor Foundation (HWWMOHF). 

Groundbreaking Celebration occurred on May 29, 2016

The City of Cedar Park has officially approved to set aside land to build the monument within the Cedar Park Veterans Memorial Park. 


The committee for the GSFMM will be comprised of American Legion Hunter-Morris Memorial Post 911 Post Commander Mary Dale (Honorary Board Member, HWWMOHF) , and Jon Jewett (Co-Chairs), American Legion Hunter-Morris Memorial Post 911 membership, Gold Star Family members, and business leaders from the Cedar Park Texas area. A Gold Star family is a wife, husband, mother, father, stepmother, stepfather, parent through adoption, foster parents who stand or stood in loco parentis, children, stepchildren, children through adoption, brothers, sisters, half brothers, half sisters, aunts, uncles, grandchildren and grandparents of a member of the Armed Forces of the United States that sacrificed their life for our way of life and the American flag under which they served. The Gold Star Family Memorial was created by Medal of Honor Recipient Hershel “Woody" Williams to remember those families who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
